The Walk-A-Thon is sponsored by the Booster Club.

Every few weeks or so a class will be the focus of our "Spotlight Class" feature.
Over the course of the school year, we'll spotlight every class at St. Ethelreda!
Spotlight Class: 8th GradeOur final Spotlight Class of the school year is St Ethelreda's best and brightest... the 8th Grade! Mrs. Pass is the 8th grade teacher and has prepared these fine students for their coming high school careers and beyond! Thanks to Mrs. Pass and the 8th graders for being our Spotlight Class, and for their years at St Ethelreda. Good luck to all 8th graders in the future! Spotlight Class: Preschool!Our Spotlight Class today is the Eagle's Nest... St Ethelreda's preschool! The Eagle's Nest is run by our 3 excellent preschool teachers: Mrs. Clair, Mrs. Langston, and Mrs. Toliver. Each of these fine teachers has been with St. Ethelreda for more than 10 years! The preschool kids were wonderful. It is amazing how much kids learn at ages 3 and 4! The energy in preschool is very positive as the kids learn and play together. Thanks to preschool kids and teachers... a very special (spotlight) group! Spotlight Class: 3rd Grade!Our Spotlight Class today is Mrs. Johnson's 3rd grade class! Mrs. Johnson's students are serious learners! The spotlight visited 3rd grade in the middle of an important language lesson. Once the lesson is over, we had fun with our all-boy and then all-girl pictures! What a great group of students! Thanks to Mrs. Johnson and her 3rd grade spotlight students! Spotlight Class: 4th Grade!Today, the spotlight shines on 4th grade... Mr. Cooper's class! Mr. Cooper teaches 4th Grade. He runs a tight ship, and the lesson plan today was reading and discussing "The Cricket in Times Square." Students came up in front of the class, assumed a role, and read from the dialog. It was intense and fun. The class ended with a quiz and then off to Gym class. These 4th graders are excellent students with tons of energy! Thanks to Mr. Cooper and his outstanding 4th Grade class... our Spotlight Class! Spotlight Class: 5th Grade!The spotlight shines on a wonderful, energetic group: St. Ethelreda's 5th grade class. The 5th grade students are very enthusiastic and have a truly positive energy. The group is taught by Mrs. Williams. She is reviewing factoring today on the blackboard, and everyone is participating. The 5th graders were great fun. Thank you to the kids and to Mrs. Williams for being an outstanding Spotlight Class! Spotlight Class: Kindergarten!Today's Spotlight Class is the wonderful Kindergarten class at St. Ethelreda. Kindergarten is taught by Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Boatman. The class today featured the letter "B"... as found in words like "bird" or "bug" or "Bill". We also were fortunate to catch the students completing a handwriting assignment. The penmanship was great; these are outstanding kids! Thank you to Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Boatman and the outstanding kids in Kindergarten at St. Ethelreda... our Spotlight Class! Spotlight Class: 2nd Grade!Our first spotlight class of 2008 is (drum roll) 2nd Grade! 2nd grade is taught by Mrs. Woods and aide Mrs. Brown. They are wonderful group of students who are both studious and enthusiastic. Good luck to our spotlight class... the 2nd grade! Spotlight Class: 1st Grade!Our new Spotlight Class is Sister Mary Augustine Thekkel's 1st grade class. Sister Mary is a new teacher at St. Ethelreda School. She receives a $50 gift certificate for school supplies at the Classmate store. Spotlight Class: 7th Grade!Our second Spotlight Class is Ms. Pittman's 7th grade class. Ms. Pittman is also a new teacher at St. Ethelreda School. Ms. Pittman grew up in Chicago and became a teacher because of "a desire to help younger people understand the importance of education." She enjoys the presence of faith and religion at St. Ethelreda: "Children need religion." Ms. Pittman receives a $50 gift certificate for school supplies at the Classmate store.
